Parts of this story contain explicit depictions of a sexual relationship between consenting adult male elves. If you are under age or don’t care for this, LEAVE NOW. As usual, characters from The Lord of the Rings belong to the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien and New Line Cinema (AOL); I only play with them from time to time without any compensation. No harm; no foul; no profit. Anyone or anything new, however, is mine (left-overs again). This story is about CHARACTERS, not actors. Beta by Nikki Memmott. Thanks, merci beaucoup, tapadh leibh, gracias, danke, grazie, arigato, spazebo, obrigado. You have been warned. Any errors are mine alone. an Elrond/Legolas story

Author’s Notes

1] Amdir, king of Lothlórien — killed in the War of the Last Alliance at the end of the Second Age. He was succeeded by his son, Amroth, who was succeeded by Celeborn and Galadriel, though they never took the titles of King and Queen.

2] Though Elves do not need to sleep, they often choose to, in order to rest both mind and body. The waking dreams described by Tolkien would only rest the mind, and even Elves become weary.

3] Mirkwood was called the Great Greenwood until approximately 1000 of the Third Age when Sauron began his return to power and inhabited Dol Guldur.

4] “Sprite” is defined (in English) as a young or small elf.

5] The elvish names and words I’ve used are gleaned from the Sindarin Dictionary Project, and from the appendices in The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion.

6] Names:
Celanor (Legolas’s horse): Cel(l) = running; anor = sun
Tatharië: Tathar = willow; = (to make it sound like an elvish name)

Gaerduil: Gaer = copper colored, ruddy; duil = (same ending as Thranduil
Cordofië: Cordof = apple tree; = (to make it sound like an elvish name)
Seron-adaro = literally: lover of father, used to mean step-father
Nîn = my

Fea = soul, spirit
Anar (Quenya), Anor (Sindarin) = sun
Ada-nîn = my father
